Fifth Annual Women in the Workforce Conference

I'm thrilled to share the 5th Annual Women in the Workforce Conference, hosted by Berkeley Women in Business (BWIB) and the Center for Equity, Gender, and Leadership. Through this conference, our goal was to provide a space for dialogue, learning, and collaboration to advance BWIB’s mission of increasing gender equity in the workforce. Read on to find out more about the conference.

We were honored to host over 100 attendees, including 8 panelists who are experts in their fields, from prestigious companies like PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, EY, WikiHow, Shea & Company, and more. This was followed by our keynote speaker, the UC Berkeley Chancellor, Carol Christ.

As members of the marketing committee, my team and I spearheaded a promotional campaign for the event, utilizing both on-campus resources and social media platforms. I took charge of editing two compelling TikTok videos with iMovie, which featured interviews with students on the UC Berkeley campus about women in the workforce. These served as effective teasers for the event. Additionally, we crafted Instagram posts that outlined the event's agenda, pricing, registration details, attendee benefits, guest speakers, workshops, and more. This strategy notably boosted the event's visibility on our Instagram page. Our joint efforts in producing targeted promotional materials directly led to the generation of over $2,000 in ticket sales.

A big thank you to all of our speakers, sponsors, and attendees for making this event a success! We look forward to continuing this important conversation and taking action towards a more equitable future for women in the workforce.
